Plugin Overview

Purpose

The Piwigo Publish Plugin is a Lightroom Classic Publish Service that allows photographers to publish images and metadata from Lightroom directly to a Piwigo server while maintaining synchronization between Lightroom and Piwigo.

Main Functionality

The plugin provides:

  • A Lightroom Publish Service for Piwigo
  • Creation and management of Piwigo albums from Lightroom
  • Incremental publishing (new, modified, and removed photos)
  • Upload of image files and metadata
  • Mapping between Lightroom collections and Piwigo albums
  • Synchronisation of photograph metadata - titles, captions, and keywords
  • A Custom Metadata panel showing the latest publishing information

Supported Platforms

The plugin has been developed and tested using the following environments:

Lightroom Classic

  • Lightroom Classic 15.0.1
  • Lightroom Classic 15.1
    • on Apple macOS Tahoe 26.1 (Apple silicon)
  • Lightroom Classic 14.1
    • on Windows 11 Pro running under Parallels on an Apple ARM-based processor

Piwigo

The plugin has been tested against the following Piwigo versions, all running on Ubuntu 22.04.5 LTS:

  • Piwigo 15.7.0
  • Piwigo 16.0.0
  • Piwigo 16.1.0
  • Piwigo 16.2.0
