What happened?

react-Page-Navigator v1.10.0.0 work on Root Site but does not work on sub-sites. It is properly deployed in tenant app catalog. Can select and add from "Add an App" on the sub-site and it appears in Site Contents and the feature is in Site Features and is set to active. Can add the webpart to a Site Page, but the navigation does not appear. Re-used text with headings from another page where it does work. have replicated the issue on multiple sub-sites to verify. Any idea why this is our experience? Is there something missing on the subsite that prevents the navigation from displaying properly?

Steps to reproduce

  1. Deploy sppkg to tenant app catalog
  2. add app to sub-site Site Contents
  3. create new site page from Site Pages library
  4. add section to page with narrow left column
  5. add text frame to large right column and paste in text with Header formatting included
  6. add Page Navigator WP to left frame and check config - leave as default
  7. Save page and refresh browser
  8. navigation does not appear
  9. when same steps are completed in a Root/parent site, the page navigation appears as expected

Expected behavior

Expecting to have the Navigation appear after refreshing the page, but nothing shows up
