[Performance]: Large Dataset Performance

Hi folks,
Finally migrating from selectize.js.

I noticed the Large Dataset Performance Demo is a bit laggy on both add and remove.

Also noticed when I use clear() for more than ~300 items it also has about 1 second lag. (2021 M1 Mac Pro).

Maybe not the highest priority use cases, but wanted to report them.

Expected behavior

A bit snappier, especially on clear.
