Error "Cannot upload <filename>.tif to Piwigo - forbidden file type.

While I was bussy publishing the photos from the "Italy" album as shown in image below:

I got an error.

I selected the album "Italy" and then the publish button with the goal to publish all photos in the sub-albums:

• Langkofel Group
• Seebertal & Timmelsjoch pass

The following error was shown when the "Langkofel Group" photos have been published and the Piwigo Publisher starts with the "Seebertal & Timmelsjoch pass" sub-album:

This is a strange message as the image file is a DNG file (D800-3653.DNG) and not a TIF-file.

• I tried to reproduce this with other albums when I publish a parent album having sub-albums and got the same error for one or multiple images.
• If I select again the "Italy" folder with goal to publish 2 missed photos due to the error (1 in each sub album) I got the same error for the second photo.
• If I publish the images not published due to the error per sub-album it goes ok.

So looks to me it has to do with publishing a main album containing 2 or more sub-albums. After the job is finished there is no diagnostics file available. So no more info I can provide.

If you need me to test something specific etc. please inform me.

Additional info for error above.

In Adobe Lightroom I selected the "Sion" album with goal to publish it's sub-albums. In this case only the photos from the first subalbum (highlighted green) have been published. All the red highlighted albums gave for every image the TIF error as described in the first post (yes it was a lot of pressing the enter key ... to figure out this behaviour).

On my Piwigo site (snapshot below) it can be seen that only the first album contains the photos, the other ones are still empty (albums in red in my piwigo theme to flag for admins the albums are private instead of public; nothing todo with the Piwigo Publisher).

Publishing the sub-albums separately works fine.

Any idea when this bug will be solved? If fixed it would really help to publish multiple albums in one go.

So sorry - I'd overlooked this issue.

I've re-read the descriptions above - so my understanding of the bug is:
When a publish operation is started from an album set with sub albums the operation fails to publish photos from sub albums if those albums contain certain format images (DNG) - when you get the forbidden filetype error. But if you publish each sub album separately then the publish operation completes correctly with those same image formats.

Since your issue was raised the plugin has had extensive testing and I have not encountered the same issue - publishing a deep hierarchy of albums and sub albums with a mix of RAW, DNG and TIFF images in one operation has worked mulipe times without any errors.

I just wanted to check that you still get this issue with the latest release of the plugin?

If the issue is still present then it would be helpful if you were able to share one of the images that seems to cause a problem with me - could you email it to fiona@fbphotography.uk and I can follow it up.

Hi Fiona,

I spent some time today to re-check the bug with the lates publisher version 33 to double check and trying to get some more details around this bug.

Summary

• With v33 still the same bug.
• Happens with jpg, dng and nikon nef files
• reproducible every time with same and different images / albums.
• When all images in sub-albums have been marked for re-publishing, then every time the publish button is clicked when the parent album has been selected the first sub-album which has not been re-published gets published. Images from the next sub albums will give the TIF error. If I run publish again the next sub album gets published etc. Complex to explain by text so see detailed info below.

DETAILED INFO

The test collection structure I used

Each album has 1 image starting with same character as subalbum.

• I tested it with normal subalbums and smart albums; no difference.
• Tested it with jpg, nikon NEF and DNG files; no difference.

First publishing run

1. Mark all the images in the sub albums for re-publishing
2. Select the parent album TEST JPG
3. Click on the publish button.

The first sub-album A get's published. Then the following error is shown (left), when clicked away overview of not exported images is shown (right).

When dialogs are clicked away the process continues for the 3rd subalbum C. With similar results:

Second publishing run

1. With still the parent album TEST JPG selected
2. Click on the publish button.

The second sub-album B get's published (sub album A is already published). Now only error for sub album C is generated as during the first run.

Third publishing run

1. With still the parent album TEST JPG selected
2. Click on the publish button.

The third sub-album C get's published (sub album A and B are already published). Now no error is displayed.
