Can you please add a simple and a more complex example how to use formulation.

For a SBOM. I think I need first an idea what you mean with:

Describes how a component or service was manufactured or deployed.

Does it include the build process for a component?

exactly.
formulation is part of Manufacturing BOM (MBOM).
It described how the component/service was built and deployed.

Okay, thanks. I was not aware of that something like a Manufacturing BOM exists. Maybe I should change the title into: Please create examples for MBOMs.

edit: In example can I use it to show the relation between SRC (Github Repo at commit) -> BUILD Spec (RPM spec at copr/obs/...) -> PACKAGE -> PACKAGE Configuration (deploy)
